October 17 and 18, 2008: SAFE and Street Soldiers "What's Happening in Baltimore?"
In the continuing effort to stop the violence and help keep youth alive and free, the Street Soldiers National Consortium along with the Safe Healing Foundation will host the next Alive and Free National Conference. Keynote speakers include Dr. Joe Marshall (Omega Boys Club), Terri J. Vaughn (Actress, Steve Harvey Show), Sinbad (Comedian/Activist), Kemba Smith (Advocate/Public Speaker).

October 16, 2008: Baltimore Urban Debate League "Spaghetti Dinner and Debate"
Join the Baltimore Urban Debate League and the Maryland Humanities Council for an evening of lively debate and conversation in honor and celebration of the life and legacy of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. A special invited guest will co-host the evening with students from teh League.

June 21, 2008: YOURS will be opening their peer-to-peer managed store at 822 W. 36th Ave., Baltimore. The store will sell a number of products from other peer-to-peer groups (records from Follow Your Dreams, videos from Kids on the Hill, etc.) 10am-6pm. Check them out here. |
May 31, 2008: Hunger Strike Rally at the Inner Harbor. Students hunger-striking for more peer-to-peer funding will be gathering at 2:30PM at the Amphitheater off of the intersection of Pratt and Light Streets by the harbor. From there, students will march to the steps of the Legg Mason building, one block west and one block north of the Amphitheater. The event will involve an open-mic as well as need-to-know information about how peer-to-peer programming can combat crime, poverty, and improve the lives of Baltimore's Youth. |
